Closet Handles

A week ago we were preparing the house for new carpet throughout. We had to move everything out and kiltz the floors and prepare it for the new carpet. The spare bedroom has a wall of closet doors with handles that were off when we moved in due to the painting, I had been meaning to put them back on for a couple months now.

The day came and we opened all the windows before the carpet guys arrived, when they did we went outside so they could work. I remember the handles being in a pile on the window seal of the spare room when I opened the window.

Time went on and the job was finished, we were asked to check out the house and approve the job. The room we ended up in to sign the papers was the spare room, I was standing next to the window with the pile of handles and thought "I need to get those put on so I can get into the closet" we left the room to see the two guys out and then began to move furniture and things back in.

A phone call came in and we had to go to town so I went to each room to shut the windows nothing different caught my eye in the spare room.

We were gone about two hours and when we returned I went to open the windows back up, I walked into the hallway and approached the spare room entry when my eyes were drawn to the window seal where the handles were all neatly lined up all except for one. They were all facing down on the seal and the one in the middle was pointing up facing straight.

I paused before entering the room and called for Don to come and look, I knew he didn't have time to do this before we left and why would he we both were dragging furniture back in and were busy. I knew that the two carpet guys didn't do it I had seen them in a pile when we left the room.

No explanation for this at all, no one had access to our house.

Our son Nate from the time he was very small he loved to stack blocks, books, rocks anything he was playing with and he did it all in a line except he would make one different.

Nate was always a prankster and did things to make you laugh and was the center of attention anywhere he went.

He loved to have new carpet and always appreciated the little things in life most of us take for granted and for him to be with us that day he would have loved the new carpet. It's just one of the experiences we have had that can't be anything other than his presence with us.

Pictures

I took this picture from a video Don did after the floors were ready for carpet. The handles were not arranged and in piles. This picture is the handles all lined up, I took this right after we found them.

  1. It's been awhile since I've seen these pictures. So much has happened since then. We haven't lived there in that house in almost three years.
